Role overview

Safety policy and objectives

• Support implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the KONE safety management system covering worker, user, and third-party safety.
• Cultivate an understanding and active caring culture for safety and act as a role model.
• Compile, maintain, and improve safety documentation with the unit safety team.
• Participate in safety committees, forums, and safety improvement projects.
• Provide professional safety advice and support to the unit.
• Work closely with customers, partners, and KONE subcontractors.
• Support the development, review, and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.

Safety risk and assurance

• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools, and practices.
• Support safety-related change management projects and initiatives.
• Collect, measure, and ensure the accuracy of leading and lagging safety data and report performance.
• Monitor legal and business environment developments in safety and propose actions.
• Perform regular safety audits to verify compliance and identify uncontrolled risks and deviations.
• Assist line management with safety audits and visits and support audit process improvement.
• Analyse and investigate incidents and support investigation process improvement.
• Manage corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement.

Safety promotion

• Develop personal competencies as a safety specialist in cooperation with the manager.
• Support training and development of safety competencies within the unit.
• Proactively communicate safety information, investigation outcomes, and best practices.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• NEBOSH certification is mandatory.
• 2–5 years of experience in safety, ideally within the elevator industry.
• Trakhees-approved Safety Engineer status.
• Strong interpersonal and people management skills.
• Proficiency in problem-solving, incident management, auditing, and analytical tasks.

Additional qualifications

• Additional safety certifications are advantageous.
• Fluency in English is advantageous.
