CSE Engineer, Product

Provide technical expertise on the optimal KONE product for customer needs and translate those needs into product-specific requirements.

Coordinate engineering work through project handover to maintenance.

Support field CSE, field operations, and sales teams in delivering KONE elevator, escalator, and autowalk products and services.

This role description applies to CSE Engineer, Project in KMTA CSE Functional Services.

Sales and Product Planning

  • Identify optimal products for non-standard customer needs and select the product platform for competitive offers.
  • Coordinate material and service cost inputs and prepare correct costings for non-standard corporate and local materials.
  • Create custom product plans and specifications, including energy calculations and simple traffic analyses.
  • Coordinate product lead times from supply lines and local sourcing.

Installation, Maintenance, and Compliance

  • Ensure proposed products can be installed and account for installation cost and work-effort impacts.
  • Ensure proposed products meet customer lifecycle needs and resolve deviations from standard maintenance methods.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, regulations, safety requirements, environmental regulations, and KONE engineering policy.

Customer and Delivery Processes

  • Provide technical product, cost, lead-time, risk, and contract-content information for pre-booking reviews.
  • Execute holistic product planning and create project layouts.
  • Analyze change requirements and propose new product designs.
  • Provide ordering and documentation details to the CSE Specialist and product information to project, installation, and maintenance leaders.
  • Share knowledge with maintenance, participate in product-release sessions, and provide technical training to sales, installation, and maintenance teams.
  • Provide input on customization, standardization, and interface requirements for the product portfolio.

Requirements

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
  • At least five years of elevator-industry experience and experience with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in English; Arabic is an asset.
  • Excellent collaboration, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with global colleagues across time zones and different working cultures.
