Safety Analyst

Primary Purpose

Educational Qualifications

• A B.Sc. in an engineering discipline or an equivalent qualification is required.

Experience

• Formal training in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodology is required.
• The role requires eight years of experience in the oil and petrochemical industry.
• Experience should include broad knowledge of process design, operations, regulations, standards, and research studies.
• The role includes a requirement for three to five years as an Incident or Accident Analyst in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.

Professional Capabilities

• Apply original and innovative professional approaches and techniques to solve safety-related issues in oil and gas development.
• Use strong negotiation, computer, and presentation skills.
• Perform field inspections, risk assessments, reviews, proposals, and reports.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing, and interpret and analyze data.

Technical Skills

• Data visualization is required for interpreting and presenting safety information.
• Dashboard development and Power BI proficiency are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and continually improve the Mesaieed Operations Incident Management system.
• Investigate, follow up, and close HSE incidents to support compliance with incident management KPIs.
• Own analysis of incident data to identify trends, root causes, and systemic weaknesses.
• Drive preventive and corrective measures to prevent recurrence of incidents.
• Perform field inspections and risk assessments related to safety issues.
• Review and prepare proposals and reports.
• Communicate safety findings orally and in writing.
• Interpret and analyze safety data and produce data visualizations.
