Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement Rust-based software for autonomous control systems, including navigation, mission planning, and sensor integration for UAVs, USVs, and specialized platforms like the foiler.
• Develop and integrate AI/ML algorithms (e.g., computer vision, path-finding, object detection) into autonomous platforms for intelligent decision-making.
• Optimize Rust code for resource-constrained embedded environments typical in autonomous hardware.
• Work on data acquisition, processing, and analysis from various sensors.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software-hardware interfaces and ensure seamless integration.
• Ensure the safety, reliability, and security of autonomous system software through rigorous testing and validation.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and approaches in autonomous systems and AI development.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong proficiency in Rust programming, with an understanding of its memory safety and concurrency features.
• Experience with embedded systems development.
• Solid understanding of autonomous system architectures and control theory for UAVs and USVs.
• Practical experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries, particularly those applicable to embedded or edge computing.
• Familiarity with sensor integration (e.g., GPS, IMUs, cameras, LiDAR).
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex systems involving both hardware and software.
• Good to Have
• Experience with communication protocols commonly used in autonomous systems (e.g., MAVLink, ROS) and autopilots (PX4).
• Practical experience with drones.
• Experience with embedded electronics.
• Knowledge of computer vision libraries and techniques.
• Prior experience in robotics or autonomous systems development.
• Specific interest or experience with hydrofoil technology or similar marine autonomous systems.
