Cigna Global Healthcare Benefits is growing across the Middle East and is recruiting an underwriting professional to join its Dubai team.
The role reports to the Underwriting Manager and covers risk analysis, rate development, pricing, and consultative underwriting.
The position supports profitable growth, persistency, and earnings through sound underwriting decisions.
Critical Tasks and Contributions
- Evaluate, price, and build insurance plans for SME and large corporate clients.
- Analyze renewal portfolios and implement rating actions with sales representatives, brokers, and clients.
- Manage accounts while balancing profitability, persistency, and growth.
- Use analytical reviews to identify trends, patterns, and insights for portfolio management.
- Work with sales, client management, operations, and clinical teams to win business and ensure appropriate product use.
- Partner with finance and actuarial teams on pricing strategies and models.
- Investigate benefit adjudication non-compliance and coordinate corrective action.
- Provide clear instructions on risk exposure, monitor market conditions, and submit timely underwriting metrics.
Required Skills and Competencies
- High numeracy, data analytics, predictive modeling, problem solving, critical thinking, and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Suite programs.
- Strong teamwork, time management, prioritization, negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Professional and ethical integrity, commercial judgment, customer awareness, and a commitment to development.
Education and Experience
- Graduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Up to 5 years of working experience and proven analytics experience.
- Knowledge of the health insurance industry is preferable.
- Pursuit of professional qualifications or continued development is viewed favorably.
