About the Role

- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritization of threats, opportunities and issues
- Maintain visibility of threat / opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling
- Use risk data to inform investment planning
- Assist with identification and recording of appropriate management responses
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against remaining Risk budget
- Proactively manage the completion of management responses
- Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks
- Produce risk reports as required in a timely manner
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels
Requirements
- Experience in risk engineering or risk management on large projects
- Knowledge of risk identification, assessment, and prioritization techniques
- Ability to conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with risk reporting and contingency analysis

Role Overview
- The Risk Engineer will interface with multiple levels and dimensions of the project team across the Engineering, Delivery etc. providing advice, direction, and assurance relative to the risk processes within the project.
- Maintain a close working relationship with other Function Managers, Project Controls Managers, Finance team personnel, and the Project Management, Procurement and Commercial functions.
- Additionally, the Risk Manager may represent the project with key stakeholders including contract partners, regulators, auditors, and investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate identification, assessment and prioritization of threats, opportunities and issues
- Maintain visibility of threat / opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat / opportunity.
- Use risk data to inform investment planning.
- Assist with the identification and recording of appropriate management responses which are measurable and specific, along with assessing the post mitigated positions.
- Monitor overall risk exposure and assess against the remaining Risk budget.
- Proactively manage the completion of management responses.
- Work with contractors to assess contractor held risks and their views on client held risks that impact upon them.
- Produce risk reports as required, in a timely manner, to support the effective communication of threat & opportunity status.
- Conduct quantitative risk assessment (cost and schedule) to inform project contingency levels.
