Retail Representative - West Pender

Role overview

Hours and schedule

• The role is temporary and scheduled Tuesday through Saturday for 30 hours per week.
• Typical hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Hours may vary and flexibility is required.

Customer and shipment service

• Serve customers efficiently and courteously by telephone and in person.
• Upsell and cross-sell corporate products and services.
• Handle complaints and inquiries and resolve problem shipments.
• Assist customers with shipping details and account challenges.

Operations and relationships

• Resolve equipment and technology challenges.
• Load, scan, log, and call regarding freight requiring resolution.
• Complete cash reconciliation, deposits, and key control procedures.
• Coordinate with corporate partners and build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and building tenants.

Compliance and accountability

• Follow corporate policies, procedures, uniform requirements, and safety standards.
• Maintain punctual attendance and represent Purolator's values.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Candidate requirements

• Proficiency in English is required for frequent communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Professional oral, written, and listening communication skills are required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and stand for three-hour intervals.
• Customer service, retail, and technology or point-of-sale experience of 3 to 12 months is preferred.
• Team, independent-work, and safety-environment experience are assets.

Workplace

• The position works in a retail centre environment at the West Pender location in Vancouver, British Columbia.
