Responsibilities
- Lead the on site architectural supervision and consultant services for major construction projects
- Administer pre and post contract responsibilities as defined by the appointment
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary site teams
- Ensure alignment with the approved design intent and monitor compliance with project contract, codes, and specifications
- Serve as primary interface between client, contractors, design teams, and other stakeholders
- Oversee design deliverables, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, inspections, and construction queries
- Review and approve works including mock ups, sample rooms, materials, and finishes
- Conduct regular architectural and design focused site walks
- Prepare and issue monthly architectural/design guardianship reports
- Participate in value engineering and design development discussions
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction related field
- Minimum 12 15+ years of relevant experience in complex design, new build projects
- At least 5 years in the UAE and at least 3 of these with a recognised PMC or lead engineering consultancy
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction related processes and industry practices
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills
- Familiarity with software packages typically associated with Construction management
- Proven ability to perform in a lead capacity on a program

The Role
- Our Global Design Consultancy Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Resident Architect to join their team in Dubai, UAE to work on a new build residential, commercial and hospitality project.
- This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 Month Contract position as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the on site architectural supervision and consultant services for major construction projects.
- Administer pre and post contract responsibilities as defined by the appointment.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary site teams where applicable.
- Ensure alignment with the approved design intent and monitor compliance with the project’s contract, codes, and specifications.
- Serve as a primary interface between the client, contractors, design teams, and other stakeholders.
- Lead the site based lead consultancy team to ensure high standards of quality, compliance, coordination, and delivery.
- Oversee and assist with design deliverables, pre engineering, shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, inspections, and construction queries.
- Review and approve works including mock ups, sample rooms, materials, and finishes.
- Conduct regular architectural and design focused site walks.
- Identify, document, and report design, aesthetic, and quality related risks.
- Prepare and issue monthly architectural/design guardianship reports.
- Provide architectural and interior design clarifications where requested.
Site Supervision Team Management
- Direct and manage the day to day performance of the site supervision team (architects, engineers, inspectors, sub consultants).
- Ensure all team members are properly briefed on their roles and responsibilities.
- Implement structured delegation and reporting mechanisms.
- Conduct periodic audits, QA/QC/technical reviews, and performance assessments.
- Maintain a collaborative, professional, and high performing supervision environment on site.
- Monitor and update project staff deployment and associated schedule.
Project & Contract Administration
- Direct and manage the day to day performance of the site supervision team.

- Conduct periodic audits, QA/QC/technical reviews, and performance assessments.
- Maintain a collaborative, professional, and high performing supervision environment on site.
- Monitor and update project staff deployment and associated schedule.
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as the senior site representative of the lead consultant.
- Establish and manage coordination mechanisms among the consultant team, contractor, suppliers, and client representatives.
- Participate in progress meetings, site coordination meetings, and technical reviews.
- Monitor and steer project progress and associated scheduling and produce relevant reports.
- Provide strategic input and advice to the client to ensure project objectives are met.
Quality & Compliance Oversight
- Enforce quality control standards and escalate issues that risk design quality or compliance.
- Monitor health, safety, and environmental practices on site.
- Participate in final inspections, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure defect lists, non conformance reports and site observations are compiled and rectified.
- Ensure pre engineering deliverables are in line with contract agreement.
- Monitor and advise on change control process.
Resident Architect Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction related field.
