Conduct theoretical research into quantum algorithms and quantum error correction.
Work with interdisciplinary theory, software, and hardware teams to implement your ideas on the world’s most powerful quantum computers
Advise architecture and hardware teams to aid the design applications and architectures for trapped-ion quantum processors
PhD completed prior to start date
Minimum 4+ years of experience (PhD inclusive)
Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status
Due to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.
PhD in a field relevant to quantum computing strongly preferred
Record of research or publications strongly preferred
Additional post-doctoral research experience beyond a PhD
Formal background in theoretical physics, math, or computer science with a proven track record of solving challenging problems
Experience with high-performance computing for scientific applications
Experience working with quantum computing hardware
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
