RVH Interventional Radiology (IR) is a specialized service within Medical Imaging that uses image guidance, including fluoroscopy, ultrasound and CT, to perform minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The Interventional Radiology team is comprised of our bookings clerical team, Interventional Radiologists, Medical Radiation Technologists, and Nurses who provide care to patients with a broad range of vascular, oncologic and other complex conditions. RVH operates two fully equipped Interventional Radiology suites with a dedicated nursing area for pre- and post-procedure care and provides IR services to patients throughout North Simcoe Muskoka.
The Vascular and Interventional Therapy (VIT) Clinic supports patients requiring consultation, assessment, preparation and follow-up related to Interventional Radiology procedures. As the VIT Clinic Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), you will work collaboratively with Interventional Radiologists and the Medical Imaging team to support patient assessment and education, coordination of care, review of clinical information, identification of potential risks or contraindications, procedure preparation and ongoing follow-up.
The Vascular and Interventional Therapy (VIT) Clinic Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary VIT Clinic team. The RPN supports safe, efficient, patient-centred ambulatory care through patient assessment and education, clinic coordination, documentation, requisition management, and patient navigation.
The VIT Clinic RPN demonstrates responsibility and accountability for providing quality care in accordance with the philosophy, policies and standards of Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), the Nursing Act, and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Current College of Nurses of Ontario certificate of competence.
Current BLS essential.
Additional education related to ambulatory care, patient and procedural coordination, Medical Imaging, or interventional procedures is an asset.
Minimum 2 years experience within Medical Imaging, ambulatory care, outpatient services, patient coordination, clinical booking, or a related healthcare environment required.
Experience within Medical Imaging clerical or booking workflows is considered an asset.
Experience and knowledge of patient workflow for various interventional procedures in Medical Imaging is preferred.
Experience coordinating appointments, requisitions, clinical documentation, and patient communication is an asset.
Experience with patient education and managing multiple priorities independently is preferred.
Sound knowledge of Nursing process and responsibilities of the profession.
Functions independently within scope of practice.
Experience in pre-/post-procedure care or interventional services is an asset but not required.
Familiarity with Medical Imaging terminology, scheduling, requisition workflows, and Radiologist consultation processes is an asset.
Experience with PACS is preferred.
Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
