Principal Accountabilities
- Prepare clinical and progress notes and coordinate services.
- Liaise with physicians, personnel, clients, and family members regarding changes in condition.
- Counsel clients and families on nursing and related needs.
- Supervise and teach other nursing personnel and participate in in-service programs.
Clinical Care Duties
- Monitor and record vital signs and report abnormal values.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor intravenous infusions and parenteral therapies.
- Care for clients with tracheostomies, gastrostomies, colostomies, pacemakers, peritoneal dialysis, and ventilators.
- Provide care for clients with neurological conditions, terminal illness, disabilities, and elderly care needs.
- Care for newborns and pre- and post-partum mothers.
- Provide care at home or at an educational facility and assist with exercises, ambulation, appointments, and social activities.
- Provide wound care to help prevent worsening pressure ulcers.
- Record medical events, procedures, patient condition, progress, and problems.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing in the home country.
- Two to five years of work experience as a registered nurse.
- Current valid registration in the country of training or last employment.
- Eligibility for DOH, DHA, or MOH licensing.
Additional Qualifications
- Active Basic Life Support training.
- Critical care qualification.
- Pediatric qualification for pediatric registered nurse assignments.
- ACLS for adult patients.
- PALS for pediatric patients.
- Teaching and assessing experience.
Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills
- Homecare and clinical nursing skills.
- Bedside manner and infection control.
- Nursing, physiological, medication administration, and health promotion skills.
- Medical teamwork, multitasking, listening, and verbal communication.
- Ability to speak Arabic.
