Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and operational support to facilities teams across multiple communities.
  • Ensure consistent execution of preventative maintenance programs, work orders, unit turns, and repair and maintenance activities.
  • Conduct regular property visits, inspections, and operational audits to verify compliance with company standards.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance service delivery and resident experience.
  • Support General Managers and onsite leadership teams with facilities-related challenges and escalations.
  • Monitor the performance, maintenance, and uptime of critical building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, generators, access control, and fire & life safety systems.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and support remediation of major maintenance-related issues.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are executed and documented properly.
  • Assist with planning and execution of deferred maintenance projects and system upgrades.
  • Identify life safety, employee safety, and physical hazards and develop corrective action plans.
  • Manage relationships with service providers and contractors across the portfolio.
  • Review vendor performance, scope of work, and contract compliance.

Ideal Background

  • 5+ years of facilities, engineering, or maintenance leadership experience within multifamily, hospitality, commercial real estate, or a related industry.
  • Experience overseeing operations across multiple properties or locations.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, elevators, and fire & life safety systems.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and NFPA codes.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and service contracts.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and maintenance expenditures.
  • Experience using Yardi or similar property management platforms.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned portfolio.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish fluency highly preferred.
