Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair refrigeration and cooling systems used in bakery operations.
- Maintain chillers, freezers, cold rooms, proofers, blast freezers, blast chillers, and air-conditioning systems.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance across the facility.
- Diagnose faults in compressors, condensers, evaporators, thermostats, expansion valves, and refrigerant piping.
- Adjust refrigerant levels, pressures, and temperatures according to system design.
- Perform leak identification, refrigerant recovery, recycling, and charging in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain required temperature and humidity parameters for dough processing and product quality.
- Assist with installation, relocation, and commissioning of new refrigeration equipment.
- Connect electrical controls, sensors, and thermostats using technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Calibrate temperature sensors, pressure controls, and safety devices.
- Verify insulation, drainage, and airflow for efficient performance.
- Monitor system readings and inspect belts, fans, motors, and electrical controls for wear or damage.
Operating requirements
- Ensure temperature-controlled systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food safety and environmental standards.
- Follow technical drawings and wiring diagrams when connecting controls, sensors, and thermostats.
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules for refrigeration systems.
- Record temperature, pressure, voltage, current, and refrigerant readings.
