Key Job Responsibilities
- Operate hydraulic paper cutting machines accurately and safely.
- Cut printed sheets according to production job specifications.
- Read and understand job cards, cutting layouts, and production instructions.
- Ensure accurate cutting dimensions, squareness, and consistency.
- Set up cutting programs and the back gauge for different job sizes.
- Inspect printed sheets before and after cutting to maintain quality standards.
- Stack, label, and prepare finished jobs for folding, binding, or dispatch.
- Meet production targets while minimizing paper wastage.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the cutting machine.
Candidate Requirements
- Have 5–7 years of experience operating cutting machines in a commercial offset printing press.
- Know paper sizes, grain direction, cutting sequences, and imposition layouts.
- Be able to read production job tickets and cutting plans.
- Have experience handling coated, uncoated, board, and specialty papers.
- Experience with programmable cutting machines is preferred.
- Blade-changing experience is mandatory.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with programmable cutting systems.
- Understanding of offset printing and post-press operations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
