Job Purpose
The Reach Truck (RT) Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of reach stackers to facilitate the smooth flow of container loading and unloading processes.
This role ensures equipment functionality, adheres to safety practices, and maintains a clean and safe working environment.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate various reach stackers to load and unload containers from or to trucks.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks to ensure all functions are working correctly and fluid levels are adequate, thereby extending machine life and reducing downtime.
- Adhere to safe loading and unloading practices to minimize container damage and prevent accidents.
- Accurately place containers on tilting frames at heights above 12 meters.
- Move containers from stacks and load them onto trucks efficiently.
- Operate Vehicle Mounted Terminals (VMT) to update slot details, container information, and truck loading (TL) details.
- Follow good work practices to maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
- Maintain hygiene standards throughout the working environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in operating heavy machinery or reach stackers is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating reach stackers or similar heavy machinery in a logistics or warehouse setting.
- Proven ability to perform equipment checks and adhere to safety protocols.
