Responsibilities
- Develop and implement corporate engineering standards, maintenance strategies, technical procedures, and best practices for General Cargo and Bulk Handling Equipment across all terminals
- Establish equipment performance monitoring frameworks, engineering KPIs, and maintenance governance processes
- Conduct engineering audits, technical reviews, and performance assessments at terminals
- Analyze equipment failures, downtime trends, and lead root cause analysis for major failures
- Provide engineering oversight for bulk handling systems including ship loaders, conveyors, stacker reclaimers, etc.
- Provide technical oversight for mobile harbour cranes, forklifts, reach stackers, and other general cargo equipment
- Support terminal expansions, equipment acquisitions, and major CAPEX projects
- Ensure compliance with corporate HSE policies, port regulations, and statutory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in an Engineering field
- 10+ years of experience, minimum 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role
- Strong experience with Bulk Ship Loading & Unloading Systems, Conveying Systems, Terminal Silos, Dry Bulk Storage & Reclaim Systems, Mobile Harbour Cranes, Material Handling Equipment, Heavy Industrial Maintenance, Multi site International Operations, Major CAPEX Projects
- Ability to write clearly and communicate effectively in English

Role Overview
- Lead and govern the engineering, maintenance, reliability, and technical performance of General Cargo and Bulk Handling Equipment across multiple international terminals and projects.
- The role is responsible for establishing engineering standards, supporting terminal engineering teams, driving equipment reliability, managing technical risks, and overseeing major equipment projects to ensure safe, efficient, and cost effective terminal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement corporate engineering standards, maintenance strategies, technical procedures, and best practices for General Cargo and Bulk Handling Equipment across all terminals.
- Establish equipment performance monitoring frameworks, engineering KPIs, and maintenance governance processes.
- Standardize maintenance methodologies, inspection regimes, technical specifications, and engineering practices across the portfolio.
- Conduct engineering audits, technical reviews, and performance assessments at terminals.
- Provide technical guidance and support to terminal engineering teams on complex equipment and operational issues.
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance effectiveness across terminals.
- Analyze equipment failures, downtime trends, recurring defects, and maintenance costs.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for major equipment failures.
- Drive reliability improvement programs aimed at maximizing equipment availability and operational efficiency.
- Promote predictive and condition based maintenance technologies and practices.
- Provide engineering oversight for bulk handling systems including ship loaders, conveyors, stacker reclaimers, etc.
- Ensure efficient and reliable operation of bulk cargo receiving, conveying, storage, reclaiming, and vessel loading/unloading processes.
Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in an Engineering field.
- Ability to write in a clear concise manner and to communicate effectively in English. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
- 10+ years, Minimum 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role.
- Strong experience with: Bulk Ship Loading & Unloading Systems, Conveying Systems, Terminal Silos, Dry Bulk Storage & Reclaim Systems, Mobile Harbour Cranes, Material Handling Equipment, Heavy Industrial Maintenance, Multi site International Operations, Major CAPEX Projects.
