Job Purpose
Perform conventional X-rays and assist the radiologist with special and interventional procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Carry out routine radiographic examinations according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with specialized radiologic procedures under the supervision of senior staff.
- Correctly identify patients and the exposure site before each examination.
- Remind female patients or a female companion about possible pregnancy before examinations.
- Remove radio-opaque materials that could interfere with radiographic images.
- Verify the accuracy of film identification.
- Perform aseptic technique before procedures.
- Prepare contrast agents for administration.
- Document required information in the patient logbook.
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality.
