Expleo Group is hiring a Quality Inspector (Aerospace) to join our client's team in Kinston, North Carolina.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of aerospace panels, assemblies, and manufactured components to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards
  • Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections in accordance with AS9102 requirements
  • Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials, products, and processes
  • Inspect panels and structures for dimensional accuracy, workmanship, damage, defects, and foreign object debris (FOD) compliance
  • Verify that completed products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements
  • Review manufacturing documentation, work instructions, drawings, and inspection records for completeness and accuracy
  • Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities related to quality findings
  • Monitor manufacturing areas for foreign object prevention and housekeeping compliance
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of quality concerns
  • Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation in accordance with aerospace standards
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement throughout the facility

Skills & Experience You Should Possess

  • 3+ years of quality inspection experience within aerospace, aviation, defense, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience inspecting aerospace composite panels, aircraft structures, metallic components, or aerospace assemblies
  • Direct experience supporting Airbus A350 manufacturing, assembly, inspection, or quality programs highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality assurance processes
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing documentation
  • Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention programs and aerospace housekeeping requirements
  • Experience performing First Article Inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections
  • Hands-on experience using precision measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
  • Ability to identify, document, and disposition non-conformances in accordance with aerospace quality requirements
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality excellence

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Experience supporting Airbus A350 fuselage panel, composite panel, or structural assembly programs
  • Experience working within Airbus quality systems and manufacturing environments
  • AS9100 and AS9102 experience
  • Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) certifications or experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification
  • Experience with MRB, NCR, CAPA, and corrective action processes
  • Familiarity with aerospace ERP, MES, or Quality Management Systems
  • Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience

Education & Certifications You Need

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification preferred
  • Aerospace quality certifications or specialized inspection training highly desirable
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant aerospace inspection experience will be considered

Final compensation is determined based on skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market-based rates by geography.
