About the Role
Gambles Ontario Produce is hiring a Quality Control Inspector to perform produce inspections, ensure quality standards, and support the ripening team. The role requires knowledge of CFIA/USDA standards, ability to lift 50lbs, and flexibility for early morning shifts.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce Gambles' quality specifications
- Perform and report quality assessments during live inbound receiving
- Follow up on items already received but not quality controlled
- Outbound quality control checks for select customers
- Fulfill quality reporting requests (photos, weight, size, avg counts, etc.)
- Daily review of cooler checklist to identify and report sub par product for disposition
- Assessment, reporting, and handling of #2/Rejection/Return items
- Coordinate CFIA inspections as required
- Provide support and coverage as needed to the Ripening team
Requirements
- Post secondary education in food science, natural science, or agriculture
- Knowledge of CFIA grading standards and produce specifications (asset)
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a warehouse environment
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiar with use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Self starter that identifies priorities and takes initiative
- Flexible and adaptable to an ever changing environment
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills
- Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities

- #2/Rejection/Return, assessment, reporting, and handling (transfers, RTS coordination).
- 3rd Party Inspections.
- Coordinate CFIA inspections as required.
- Provide support and coverage as needed to the Ripening team.
Candidate Requirements
- Post secondary education in food science, natural science and/or agriculture.
- Knowledge, prior experience and familiarity of CFIA grading standards and produce specifications would be considered an asset.
- Strong English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to lift 50lbs and work in a warehouse environment.

- Salary Range: CAD 45,760.00
- Position Status: Existing Position
- Thursday to Monday, 1:00am 9:00am
