Responsibilities
- Inspect welding activities for piping, pipelines, structures, pressure vessels, and equipment.
- Review WPS, PQR, and welder qualification records and verify welder qualifications.
- Conduct material identification, joint fit-up, and visual welding inspections.
- Verify welding consumables, storage conditions, baking, and issuance records.
- Monitor preheating, interpass temperature, welding parameters, and post-weld heat treatment.
- Coordinate RT, UT, MT, PT, and PMI activities, review reports, and monitor defect repairs.
- Prepare inspection requests and maintain weld maps, inspection records, NDT status, and welder performance reports.
- Issue non-conformance reports and monitor corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with project teams and support material receiving, pressure testing, reinstatement, mechanical completion, and handover.
- Prepare daily and weekly quality reports and maintain complete quality dossiers and final project documentation.
Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Welding Engineering.
- At least eight years of welding inspection experience in Oil and Gas projects.
- Three to five years of offshore project experience.
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, API 1104, AWS D1.1, and applicable ADNOC standards.
- Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, and alloy steel materials is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics, welding symbols, and project specifications.
- Knowledge of WPS, PQR, WPQ, NDT, PWHT, PMI, and hardness testing requirements.
- ASNT/PCN Level II, BOSIET/HUET, and offshore medical fitness are preferred.
Project Environment
- The role supports offshore brownfield, shutdown, and tie-in activities.
- The role requires compliance with ADNOC quality and HSE requirements.
