QA/QC Electrical Engineer | Alfanar Building Systems

Job purpose

Functional responsibilities

• Review electrical shop drawings, specifications, material submittals, method statements, and ITPs from a QA/QC perspective.
• Inspect electrical installations for compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Prepare and review WIR/MIR, inspection checklists, ITPs, and testing documentation.
• Monitor LV/MV systems, power and lighting, cable trays, conduits, cabling, earthing, lightning protection, panels, transformers, generators, and ELV systems.
• Witness electrical testing and commissioning activities and verify test reports.
• Verify delivered materials against approved submittals and project specifications.
• Monitor subcontractor works and ensure compliance with approved QA/QC requirements.
• Raise and follow up NCRs, SORs, observations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, technical office, procurement, and consultant teams on quality matters.
• Maintain QA/QC records and support project handover and final quality documentation.

Required technical knowledge

• Electrical construction, installation, inspection, and testing.
• ITP, MIR/WIR, and NCR/SOR preparation and management.
• Method statements, inspection checklists, and quality documentation.
• Material approval, inspection, and traceability.
• Testing and commissioning procedures.
• Shop drawing and specification compliance.
• Applicable local and international electrical standards and project specifications.
• Construction QA/QC procedures and quality management systems.

General responsibilities

• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules.
• Use resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
• Prepare periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Solve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
• Ensure quality requirements support effective quality control processes.
• Coordinate written systems, policies, procedures, and automation opportunities.
• Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, quality, and environmental controls.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience.
• Skills include quality compliance, quality metrics, and quality tools and techniques.
