The QA Lead Engineer will define and execute the overall quality assurance strategy across multiple products and platforms.
The role combines hands-on automation expertise with leadership in process improvement, team management, and quality governance.
The role partners with Engineering, Product, and DevOps teams to drive quality initiatives, automation adoption, and continuous testing.
Core Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end QA strategy, including test planning, automation, performance testing, and release validation.
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web, mobile, and backend systems.
- Lead, mentor, and coach QA engineers through technical guidance, performance feedback, and career development support.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make requirements testable, measurable, and aligned with quality objectives.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD processes to support continuous delivery and reduce regression risks.
- Drive performance, load, and security testing strategies for system reliability and scalability.
- Evaluate and standardize automation tools, technologies, and best practices across projects.
- Use data-driven testing, KPIs, and dashboards to maintain visibility into product quality.
- Lead defect triage, coordinate release testing, and ensure timely defect resolution and risk reporting.
- Promote a quality-first mindset, testability, and robust system design across engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 6–10 years of software testing experience, including at least 3 years in a QA Lead or similar leadership role.
- Strong hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Strong knowledge of API and backend testing with Postman, RestAssured, or similar tools.
- Experience with performance testing using JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or k6.
- Familiarity with test management and bug tracking tools such as Jira and TestRail.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a proactive, detail-oriented approach.
- Proven leadership and communication skills to drive cross-team collaboration and influence quality culture.
