Position Overview

  • Proxy Product Owner for a 6 month contract in Dubai (onsite).
  • Notice period: Immediate joiner or up to 30 days.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Trade Finance product development or delivery within banking.
  • Strong experience with agile product delivery and working alongside Technology teams.
  • Deep understanding of Trade Finance products, processes, and controls.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and communication skills with senior leadership impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Proxy Product Owner for the Trade Finance product set, supporting the Product Owner / Head of Trade Product in driving implementation and enhancements while ensuring consistency across markets and platforms.
  • Own and manage the Trade Product Delivery Backlog, working closely with Product Management, PMO, Technology, and Operations to ensure priorities are clearly defined, refined, and aligned with business outcomes, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
  • Translate high level product vision into detailed business and functional requirements, ensuring clarity on scope, acceptance criteria, and dependencies for development teams.
  • Provide Trade Finance domain expertise to delivery teams, covering products, operational processes, controls, and end to end client journeys, and act as a subject matter reference during development and implementation.
  • Support Product Management by ensuring active participation of relevant SMEs in working level product forums, assisting in the creation and validation of Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, test cases, standard operating procedures, and implementation guides, and regularly engaging

  • Product Enhancements – successful delivery of approved enhancements and fixes.
  • Client Experience – speed, usability, and frictionless client journeys.
  • Product Governance – adherence to GTB, compliance, and risk frameworks.
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction – effective engagement with Product, Technology, Operations, and Business.
  • Team Enablement – contribution to team effectiveness and knowledge sharing.
