Project Engineer / Project Manager

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Mentor contractors on Hatch safety standards and promote a total safety culture.
• Develop the Project Execution Plan and obtain client sign-off on project requirements.
• Resource the project organization and ensure the team has the capabilities needed for delivery.
• Lead the project team and maintain governance under Hatch and client authorities, procedures, and policies.
• Authorize expenditure commitments, approve invoice payments, and manage claims responses and settlements within delegated authority.
• Manage scope, cost, and schedule baselines and administer project changes.
• Obtain client acceptance, prepare the final closeout report, and close the prime contract.
• Manage client invoicing with agreed supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the Environmental and Safety Management Plan.
• Maintain strong communication with the client and project team.

Essential qualifications

• A university degree in engineering or another relevant discipline is required.
• At least 10 years of project management experience with an EPCM company is required, preferably on metals projects.
• More than 10 years of cross-functional leadership experience in a project delivery environment is required.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects is required.
• Experience with engineering, procurement, construction, project interfaces, and interdependencies is required.
• Broad knowledge of industry standards and project performance monitoring and reporting is required.

Preferred qualifications

• Mechanical, electrical, civil, or process engineering qualification is preferred.
• Working knowledge of engineering and project control systems, procurement or contracting, and construction management is preferred.
• Business development skills and proposal lead experience are preferred.
