Project Engineer I

Role overview

Scope and responsibilities

• Maintain broad, high-level knowledge of deployed mining systems.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure efficient mining-system deployment on time and within budget.
• Deploy complex mining solutions, support software, deliver customizations, and troubleshoot system issues.
• Own customer system configurations and implement customizations using scripting tools.
• Participate in onsite installation and solve problems across multiple integrated systems.
• Communicate product risks and technical issues to stakeholders and escalate critical issues for resolution.
• Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming products, strategies, and technologies for systems support.
• Report project issues, status, and resolution methods regularly.
• Advise Mining Services about customer issues and potential opportunities through customer relationships.
• Collaborate with sales on technical presentations and other pre-sales activities.
• Maintain documentation, reporting standards, systems, and processes.
• Follow workplace health and safety policies, participate in audits, and perform other required duties.

Education and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in computer, mining, electrical, or electronic engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Three years of progressive experience in the offered role, software engineering, software consulting, mining engineering, or a related occupation.
• English proficiency is required; French and Portuguese fluency are considered assets.
• Experience with Postgres, SQLite, SQL Server, Linux, Linux shell scripting, and Ubuntu is required.
• Previous experience working with remote teams is highly desirable.
• A valid driver’s license and passport or appropriate visa are required.

Travel and work location

• Local, national, and international travel is required to deliver services at client sites.
• The role includes participation in onsite system installation efforts.
