The City of Edmonton’s Waste Services Branch is seeking a Project Coordinator to support our 25-year Waste Strategy.

In this role, you will lead research initiatives and support the execution of the Communal Collection Program.

You will collaborate across teams and engage directly with the public, property managers, and community partners to deliver evidence-based programs.

By translating complex findings into practical implementation plans, you will play a key part in keeping Edmonton clean and sustainable.

What will you do?

Manage project schedules, activities, and logistics, such as site assessments and vehicle routing
Design and execute research plans focused on key operational challenges, and summarize findings for leadership
Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis to inform strategy, program design, and standard operating procedures
Support the planning and execution of engagement activities with residents, property managers, and external organizations
Assist with internal and external change management, develop communication tactics, and draft status reports
Address inquiries and concerns from interested parties while managing project-related risks and contractor activities
University Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Business, or Project Management with a minimum of two (2) years of directly related project management experience in infrastructure planning, design, construction, or a specialized area OR Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Science, Business, or Project Management with a minimum of four (4) years of directly related project management experience in infrastructure planning, design, construction, or a specialized area

Experience in waste management operations or planning

Demonstrated experience in customer service, community engagement, and managing relationships with diverse groups
Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations relevant to the role
Proven track record in report writing, research methodologies, and both qualitative and quantitative data analysis
Strong analytical, research, and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations
Excellent time management, priority setting, and multitasking abilities to meet tight project deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing technical reports and delivering presentations to leadership
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Technical acumen with proficiency in MS Office and Google applications

Conditions of Employment:

Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position.

Ability to occasionally work outside regular working hours, including evenings and weekends, to support engagement activities or operational needs
Note : This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from both home and the worksite as per the Letter of Understanding between the City of Edmonton and Civic Service Union 52
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance

Up to 1 Temporary Full-Time position for up to 11 months

Hours of Work : 33.75 Hours per week

Salary Range : $45.611 - $57.269 (Hourly); $80,355.180 - $100,893.660 (Annually)
