Application & Infrastructure Analyst I (OC2)

The Technology Service Branch requires a self-motivated individual to ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and administration of the Edmonton Police Service’s physical and virtual infrastructure.

Roles and responsibilities include:

• Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance of assigned applications and infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, logs, batch jobs, and incident queues. Troubleshoot incidents and service requests escalated from the Service Desk and implement remedial actions.
• Maintain existing systems through routine checks, maintenance activities, operational testing, unit testing, procedural testing, pre-user acceptance testing, and patching.
• Participate in assigned phases of solution delivery, including research, design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
• Install, configure, and maintain application and server components within established standards.
• Assist with planned enhancements and updates and complete low-risk, well-defined assignments using existing technologies.
• Maintain technical documentation, system procedures, and operational records.
• Communicate system status and issues to internal stakeholders and collaborate primarily with internal teams.
• Resolve operational and technical issues using established procedures and standards and escalate complex, high-risk, or cross-platform issues to senior analysts or project managers.
• Perform related duties as required.
• General knowledge of multiple technology areas and system integration.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with the Axon suite of products, Genetec Clearance, Genetec Security Center, Microsoft Esri, SaaS video solutions, video analysis or analytics, facial recognition, or end-user training would be considered an asset.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate would be considered an asset.
• A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License is required. A City Driver's License application, access to a personal vehicle, and written proof of current public liability and property damage insurance to a minimum of $1,000,000 are required. Mileage for private vehicle use during assigned duties will be reimbursed. Client transportation is not required.

Hours of Work : 40 hours per week.

Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.

Incumbents must be available for call-out outside of these hours on a rotational basis.

Range: Opportunity Concept (OC2) Level 21C, Salary Grade: 025, $37.97 - $43.95 (hourly; $3,037.70 - $3,516.50 (Biweekly); $79,283.45 - $91,780.13 (Annually)

• Degree in a related discipline with one (1) year relevant experience; OR
• Post-secondary diploma with two (2) years relevant experience; OR
• Related certificate (minimum 700 instructional hours) with four (4) years relevant experience
• Completion of Grade 12 or GED is required
• Relevant computer certificate programs generally have a minimum of 700+ instructional hours and will include relevant course work to the position. Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade or GED is required.
