Overview

  • CAMECA Instruments is seeking an experienced NPD Program Manager for their APT Technology to lead complex new product development programs from business case through industrialization and launch.
  • The role ensures programs deliver the right product, at the right cost, at the right time—while meeting business and financial objectives.
  • The ideal candidate is a strong cross functional leader combining technical understanding, business acumen, and execution discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple new product development programs across the full lifecycle, from concept and business case through product launch.
  • Own overall program performance across scope, schedule, cost, and launch readiness.
  • Ensure alignment among Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Service, and Finance.
  • Maintain and validate the program business case, including COGS, profitability, IRR, payback, and total spend.
  • Drive early identification of risks, cost gaps, and execution issues, and lead corrective actions.
  • Lead cross functional efforts to achieve target cost through design to cost, supplier optimization, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Guide programs through stage gate and DFSS processes with clear, fact based readiness criteria.
  • Ensure industrialization readiness, including BOM maturity, supplier readiness, manufacturing capability, and service preparation.
  • Maintain strong execution discipline through milestone tracking, critical path management, and RAID reviews.
  • Provide concise, data driven updates to leadership and escalate issues as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; MBA preferred.
  • 8–15+ years of experience in program management, project management, or engineering/manufacturing leadership roles.
  • Experience leading complex new product development programs in a technical or industrial environment.
  • Background in complex electromechanical systems or scientific instrumentation strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of stage gate product development processes, cost management, and industrialization.
  • Experience working cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, finance, and service teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage suppliers, influence stakeholders, and drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Travel: 10% Internationally.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong business and financial acumen, including understanding of COGS, margin, IRR, and payback.
  • Experience with value engineering, design to cost, and supplier cost optimization.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, sourcing strategies, BOM structures, and ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and decision making skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and ambiguity.

Compensation

  • Employee Type: Salaried.

  • Salary Minimum: 125,000.
  • Salary Maximum: 175,000.
