About the Role
We are seeking a Professional Head to lead the development and mobilisation of freight and future passenger railway operations. The role establishes the operating model, operational procedures, and readiness framework, acting as the Technical Authority for train operations.

- Lead the development and mobilisation of freight and future passenger railway operations
- Establish the operating model, operational procedures, operational readiness framework and operational performance strategy
- Act as the Technical Authority for train operations
- Define operating principles, driver management arrangements, operational standards and performance regimes
- Provide operational input into the Company Operations Safety Case, Rule Book and regulatory authorisation processes
- Lead the mobilisation of the train operations workforce, including Train Drivers
- Ensure readiness for Testing & Commissioning, trial running and Entry into Service
- Focus on operational readiness activities in respect of train operations as determined by the Operational Readiness Plan
Requirements
- Extensive experience in railway operations, including freight and passenger
- Proven leadership experience in train operations management
- Experience in developing operational procedures and safety cases
- Knowledge of operational readiness frameworks and entry into service processes
- Strong understanding of driver management and competence standards
