Production Floor Supervisor

Role Description

Production Supervision

• Supervise daily production and assembly activities according to schedules and production plans.
• Allocate employees to workstations and monitor output, productivity, downtime, and workflow.
• Check products against specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Identify bottlenecks, investigate basic production problems, and implement authorized corrective actions.
• Record production quantities, downtime, defects, incidents, and operational information.
• Escalate major quality, safety, equipment, or production issues to management.
• Support continuous improvement of productivity, quality, and workflow.

Assembly Operations

• Lead assembly teams and ensure daily work meets production targets.
• Guide operators on assembly procedures, tools, equipment, and work instructions.
• Monitor correct use of components and materials and check completed work for defects.
• Support quality inspections and control non-conforming products.
• Assist with training new employees on procedures, safety requirements, and workplace standards.
• Prepare tools, fixtures, machines, and workstations before production.
• Coordinate workstation changes and production priorities when required.
• Monitor attendance, work allocation, performance, and procedural compliance.

Safety and Quality

• Ensure employees follow safety rules, PPE requirements, machine procedures, and company policies.
• Conduct or support toolbox talks, safety briefings, and daily production meetings.
• Report accidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and equipment hazards immediately.
• Ensure machinery guards and safety devices are used correctly.
• Support quality control procedures and compliance with production standards.
• Prevent unauthorized operation of machinery or equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and support inspections, audits, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• A diploma or bachelor's degree in a relevant manufacturing, engineering, production, operations, or mechatronics field is advantageous.
• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, production, factory operations, or team supervision is preferred.
• Experience leading production operators or managing a production line is advantageous.

Required Capabilities

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly procedures, production equipment, and quality control.
• Strong leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, decision-making, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to follow work instructions, production drawings, specifications, and checklists.
• Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office or production management systems.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet production deadlines, and remain active on the production floor.
• Ability to work day or night shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required.
• Fluency in English is preferred; additional languages are advantageous.
