Bakery Production Supervisor / Bread Packaging Worker

Position Overview

Production and Packaging

• Oversee daily bakery production and packaging operations and coordinate staff assignments, schedules, and targets.
• Assist with preparation, production, baking, cooling, slicing, sealing, labeling, and packaging of bread and bakery products.
• Operate and monitor mixing, baking, slicing, cooling, sealing, labeling, and packaging equipment.
• Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes, specifications, and required quantities.

Quality and Food Safety

• Monitor dough preparation, fermentation, baking temperature, baking time, product appearance, and overall production quality.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for freshness, appearance, size, weight, texture, packaging, and defects.
• Identify and report equipment faults, ingredient issues, product defects, packaging problems, and food safety concerns.
• Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety standards.

Records and Coordination

• Pack products accurately with correct product types, sizes, quantities, production dates, expiry dates, and batch information.
• Maintain production, packaging, inventory, quality inspection, and material usage records.
• Monitor ingredient and packaging material usage to minimize waste and maintain efficiency.
• Coordinate with sales, purchasing, warehouse, delivery, and other departments when required.

Equipment and Staff

• Perform basic cleaning, maintenance, and adjustments of bakery production and packaging equipment.
• Train and guide staff on production procedures, packaging methods, equipment operation, hygiene, and food safety.
• Monitor production efficiency, product quality, packaging accuracy, material waste, and order completion schedules.
• Ensure finished products are packed, labeled, stored, and prepared for delivery or collection.

Improvement and Storage

• Ensure proper storage and handling of ingredients, finished products, packaging materials, tools, and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, product quality, packaging accuracy, hygiene standards, and waste reduction.

Experience and Technical Knowledge

• Previous experience in a bakery production, bread production, bread packaging, food production supervision, or similar role.
• Experience in bakery production, bread manufacturing, food processing, food packaging, or a related industry is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of mixing, dough preparation, proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, and packaging processes.
• Experience operating bakery production and packaging machinery is an advantage.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to follow recipes, production instructions, measurements, specifications, and quality standards accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent product quality.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, sanitation, food safety, and food-handling procedures.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, practical technical, communication, organizational, teamwork, and supervisory skills.
• Ability to inspect ingredients and finished products and identify quality or packaging issues.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate production and packaging staff effectively.

Work Requirements

• Physically fit and comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive production and packaging work.
• Reliable, responsible, hardworking, and able to work in a fast-paced bakery production environment.
• Good computer skills and ability to maintain production and inventory records.
• Flexible to work shifts, early mornings, weekends, public holidays, or extended hours when required.
• Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.

Additional Qualifications

• Relevant food production, bakery, food safety, or manufacturing certification is an advantage.
