Role overview

The employer is recruiting a Production Director to lead a specialist manufacturing division within an established industrial business.

The division specializes in heavy metal doors, hollow metal and fire-rated doors, structural steel, or related processing equipment.

The position reports directly to the CEO and is a senior leadership role.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations and overall performance of the manufacturing division.
  • Own production performance, capacity utilization, and on-time project delivery.
  • Manage divisional P&L, budgets, expenditure, and profitability.
  • Develop production plans aligned with annual budgets and contractual delivery schedules.
  • Work with Sales on pricing, technical proposals, and commercial negotiations.
  • Support sales forecasting and business-development objectives.
  • Partner with Engineering on product development, value engineering, and design optimization.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations, manpower, equipment, materials, and production resources.
  • Monitor project progress and departmental alignment with program requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement, productivity, and KPI performance.
  • Ensure HSE, QA/QC, and ISO compliance across shop-floor operations.
  • Oversee inventory, procurement planning, supply-chain requirements, audits, documentation, and FAT activities.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 15 years of experience in heavy metal doors, hollow metal doors, structural steel, or processing-equipment manufacturing.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Strong factory, manufacturing, or production-management experience is required.
  • Experience managing production planning, capacity, resources, multidisciplinary teams, and department heads is required.
  • Strong commercial understanding, including budgeting and cost management, is required.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, machinery, production technology, and international testing standards is required.
  • Strong QA/QC and HSE awareness and experience with ERP systems and manufacturing reporting are required.
  • AutoCAD or design-software familiarity is advantageous.
  • PMP certification would be an advantage.
  • Excellent English communication and stakeholder-management skills are required.
