Job Summary
Performs established technical tasks at the subsystem or component level for current and future products.
Works across multiple stages of the product life cycle and coordinates decisions among engineering, customer, purchasing, supplier, and manufacturing teams.
Core Responsibilities
- Obtains stakeholder input and provides information and recommendations for quality product decisions.
- Applies academic knowledge and experience to advance projects while maintaining quality expectations.
- Coordinates project details, analysis work, test instructions, and cross-discipline activities.
- Applies and improves Engineering Standard Work, iDFMEA, FIRG, 7-step problem solving, design review checklists, and specialized tools.
- Leads smaller business-impact projects or owns complex components, products, systems, or services with project-team accountability.
- Leads work-process and system improvements across a functional discipline within a business-unit site.
- Coordinates technicians and temporary student employees and supports knowledge transfer to less experienced engineers.
- Provides technical guidance and influences direction within project teams.
Role Qualifications
- Applies product development execution, monitoring, and control across requirements, resources, quality, risk, and the full product life cycle.
