PROCUREMENT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and material requisitions from approved drawings, BOQs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Review BOQs, identify procurement requirements, prepare RFQs, and obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Compare quotations based on price, specifications, quality, delivery, payment terms, and commercial conditions.
• Prepare technical and commercial comparison sheets and negotiate supplier terms.
• Process purchase orders and verify quantities, specifications, and rates before ordering.
• Coordinate with project engineers and construction teams on material requirements.
• Monitor procurement schedules and follow up on quotations, orders, production, deliveries, and outstanding materials.
• Maintain procurement records and updated supplier and material databases.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist with project cost estimates and material budgets.
• Review supplier invoices and coordinate with finance on payments and outstanding invoices.
• Support variation orders, material cost analysis, procurement reports, and resolution of shortages or delays.
• Maintain supplier relationships and ensure procurement complies with procedures, specifications, and approved budgets.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in quantity surveying, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, procurement, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant procurement, quantity surveying, or purchasing experience in construction or MEP.
• Experience with MEP or construction materials, HVAC, chilled water, plumbing, electrical, or infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
• UAE or GCC construction industry experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of BOQs, quantity take-offs, material specifications, and procurement processes.
• Experience preparing quotation comparisons and negotiating with suppliers.
• Good understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Office.
• ERP or procurement software experience is advantageous.
