Role overview

The role organizes and supervises purchasing functions and daily purchasing activities.

The role covers day-to-day and capital project purchases, contracts, bids, suppliers, inventory, pricing, terms, and product quality.

Core responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Enter all invoices accurately into the system within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Oversee inventory levels to control carrying costs while meeting operational needs.
  • Monitor procurement costs, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with finance to develop and manage the procurement budget.
  • Conduct weekly random audits of storekeeper data entry for inventory accuracy and compliance.
  • Administer, review, evaluate, analyze, file, and negotiate contracts with vendors.
  • Administer bidding processes, prepare specifications, evaluate bids, and recommend vendors.
  • Research vendors and contracts for compliance with government regulations.
  • Manage office supplies, equipment, materials, purchasing files, purchase orders, and related records.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar position.
  • Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and purchasing software.
  • Strong critical thinking, negotiation, planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create reports, conduct cost analysis, and accurately review contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, manage time efficiently, work independently, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • Pay is QAR 4,000 to QAR 8,000 per month.

Workplace

  • The work location is in person.
