Role Overview

  • The Manager, Procurement Operations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily execution, process optimization, and scaling of Lightspeed's global Procurement Operations function.
  • Acts as a vital partner to Finance leadership, ensuring spend visibility, maintaining budgetary controls, and supporting financial governance.
  • Builds, mentors, and develops a high performing team of specialists.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing team of Procurement Operations specialists.
  • Oversee team workload, set clear performance objectives, and manage resource allocation.
  • Support execution and refinement of procurement operating model including intake, approvals, purchasing, and vendor onboarding.
  • Lead optimization and administration of procurement systems (e.g., Astra, Coupa, Ironclad).
  • Implement and administer procurement policies, governance frameworks, and approval structures.
  • Drive process improvements to reduce cycle times, eliminate bottlenecks, and improve stakeholder experience.
  • Participate in Lightspeed’s Vendor Management program.
  • Establish and maintain procurement analytics and reporting.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to manage spend visibility and budget controls.
  • Lead cross functional alignment with Finance and Accounts Payable.
  • Lead initiatives to improve data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Lead audit, SOX, and compliance reporting.

  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline procurement processes.
  • Support cross functional initiatives related to contractor onboarding and vendor lifecycle management.
  • Act as a key partner to Procurement leadership in shaping the future operating model.
  • Advocate for the Procurement team and increase visibility within Finance and Operations.

What you need to bring

  • 5–7+ years of experience in Procurement Operations, Procurement, or related roles.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to manage a team's workflow in a fast paced, high growth environment.
  • Strong experience with procurement systems (Astra, Coupa, Ironclad, or similar tools).
  • Experience designing and optimizing procurement processes and operating models.
  • Extensive experience working with Finance, Legal, IT, and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English as a working language.

Compensation

  • Total compensation range: $90,000 to $120,000 CAD.
  • Benefits include medical, dental, wellness, life and disability insurance, RRSP plan and match, paid parental leave top up, and paid time off.
