Role Overview
Applied Materials designs and services equipment used to manufacture semiconductor chips and advanced displays.
The Process Equipment Technician supports semiconductor process tools, laboratory operations, and equipment readiness in Bangalore, India.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on semiconductor process tools and supporting equipment.
- Execute OEM and internal SOP maintenance procedures and resolve first-level mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, and utility issues.
- Respond to tool alarms, support equipment recovery, and escalate complex issues to Equipment Engineers and OEM service teams.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, equipment installation, startup, qualification, and relocation activities.
- Coordinate facility hookups, equipment readiness, maintenance schedules, and operational readiness checks.
- Track equipment uptime, preventive-maintenance compliance, and work-order closure metrics.
- Follow EHS standards, cleanroom protocols, and LOTO procedures.
- Identify equipment reliability improvements and participate in productivity, cost-reduction, and maintenance-standardization projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, instrumentation, or mechatronics engineering.
- Three to eight years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, or automation systems.
- Wafer fabrication experience is an added advantage.
Work Context
- The role supports laboratory and cleanroom equipment operations and requires approximately 10% travel.
- The position is full time and regular.
