Role Overview
The Customer Engineer or Installation Engineer serves as a direct liaison with customers for semiconductor and display manufacturing equipment.
The role begins with installation work and is expected to transition to the service team after developing installation and troubleshooting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment in collaboration with senior field service engineers.
- Use digital analytics and diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
- Communicate directly with customers and participate in projects supporting organizational goals.
- Travel within the APAC region approximately 75% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
- Two to five years of customer or field service support experience or related technical experience.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagnose basic technical challenges.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
- Familiarity with hand tools, digital multimeters, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid driver's license, ability to obtain a passport if required, and ability to meet on-site protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics or engineering technologies.
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
- Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
Travel and Work Setting
- The role involves customer-site work and approximately 75% travel within the APAC region.
- Relocation is eligible according to the source posting.
