Role Overview

The Principal Technical Program Manager owns cross-functional visibility and delivery accountability across the engineering and business portfolio.

The role works with executive leadership and partners across Engineering, Growth, Finance, and Operations.

The role covers hardware, embedded software, edge AI, cloud, computer vision, fleet systems, and government deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the company-level program portfolio and maintain commitments, capacity, dependencies, and status across active work.
  • Translate business commitments into engineering capacity plans and surface tradeoffs before delivery misses occur.
  • Design dashboards, operating cadences, and reporting frameworks for senior leadership portfolio visibility.
  • Maintain a real-time view of engineering capacity versus committed demand across hardware, perception, platform/cloud, and engineering operations.
  • Drive prioritization decisions when capacity and demand conflict.
  • Deliver strategic programs spanning engineering pillars and business functions, including deployments, product launches, and operational scaling.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D. degree in an engineering discipline.
  • At least 12 years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related role.
  • Experience managing concurrent, cross-functional programs in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience translating contracts, revenue commitments, or customer obligations into capacity and sequencing decisions.
  • Technical fluency across hardware, embedded, cloud, and AI engineering domains.
  • Strong executive communication skills and the ability to turn complex status into clear decisions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with on-vehicle, edge-deployed, or ruggedized systems.
  • Background in computer vision, autonomous systems, robotics, or AI/ML programs.
  • Experience delivering technology to government or municipal clients.
  • Familiarity with fleet management, secure transaction systems, or sensor hardware platforms.
  • Experience building processes in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
