About the Role
EDGE is looking for a Principal System & Subsystem Engineer (UAE National) to lead UAV systems engineering, covering architecture, subsystem integration, verification, and national capability development.

Responsibilities
- Define and own UAV system architectures across airborne platforms, payloads, datalinks, and GCS
- Govern requirements, ICDs, and functional allocations; act as final authority on trade studies and architectural decisions
- Ensure compliance with GCAA, EASA, FAA, MIL STD/STANAG standards
- Lead integration of hardware, software, mechanical, electrical, and RF subsystems
- Ensure performance, safety, SWaP, and reliability targets are met; resolve system level conflicts proactively
- Mentor systems, software, avionics, and mechanical engineers; lead SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PRR reviews
- Institutionalize SE processes and support Emirati talent development
- Define V&V strategies across lab, ground, and flight testing; ensure full requirements to acceptance traceability
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions on system level issues
Requirements
- UAE National
- Bachelor's or Master's in Aerospace, Systems, or Electrical Engineering (or related)
- 5+ years hands on UAV systems engineering experience — flight control, autonomy, sensor fusion
- Proven track record in system architecture, integration, verification, and flight testing
- Deep knowledge of UAV subsystems: avionics, propulsion, sensors, comms, payloads
- Proficiency in SysML/MBSE, MATLAB/Simulink, DOORS or equivalent tools
- Experience leading multi disciplinary teams across military and commercial UAV programs
- High level technical writing ability
