About the Role
EDGE is seeking a Subject Matter Expert in Hydraulic Systems to serve as the technical authority for UAV hydraulic systems. The role involves leading design, integration, testing, and compliance for aerospace hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical authority for UAV hydraulic systems, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Lead the design and architecture of hydraulic systems for flight controls, landing gear, weapon release, and actuation
- Design hydraulic circuits including power packs, actuators, accumulators, reservoirs, filters, and fluid lines
- Develop system requirements, hydraulic schematics, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical specifications
- Oversee integration with mechanical structures, avionics, flight control, and actuation systems
- Define and lead functional, leak, endurance, and environmental testing activities
- Ensure compliance with MIL PRF 5606, MIL STD 810, DO 160, AS9100, and airworthiness requirements
- Support FMEA, certification, and technical documentation for regulatory approval
- Drive R&D by evaluating advanced hydraulic technologies, improving reliability, reducing weight, and enhancing system efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Fluid Power Systems Engineering (required)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hydraulic systems design and integration in aerospace or defense sectors
- At least 4 years at a senior or SME level
- Experience with UAV, rotary wing, or fixed wing aircraft platforms

Requirements

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Fluid Power Systems Engineering (required)
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Hydraulics, Mechatronics, or Aircraft Systems Engineering (PREFERRED)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in hydraulic systems design and integration in aerospace or defense sectors, with at least 4 years at a senior or SME level.
- Experience with UAV, rotary wing, or fixed wing aircraft platforms involving hydraulic systems for flight control or ground systems.
Preferred Certifications
- INCOSE CSEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional) – Preferred
- Certification in hydraulic system design or analysis from a recognized OEM or
