Position Details

Job title: Principal Engineer - Integration Lead.

Location: Hyderabad.

Experience: 18+ years.

Employment type: Full Time.

The role owns enterprise integration for Life Technology across policy platforms, digital channels, data platforms, partners, and market applications.

The role will establish a governed, reusable, secure, and scalable domain API layer supporting Insurance-as-a-Service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Life Technology Integration COE strategy, operating model, roadmap, delivery standards, governance, and capability-building agenda.
  • Own the Life domain API strategy and reference architecture, including reusable APIs for quoting, applications, underwriting, policies, billing, claims, customers, advisors, documents, payments, and servicing.
  • Define API taxonomy, capability mapping, reuse principles, design standards, consumption patterns, developer onboarding, and adoption governance.
  • Govern integration design reviews, API standards, security controls, non-functional requirements, observability, releases, stability, documentation, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with CIOs, CTOs, architects, product and engineering teams, security, infrastructure, cloud, data, business, and vendors.
  • Modernize point-to-point interfaces into API-led and event-driven integration capabilities.
  • Drive CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding, API security, performance, resilience, observability, and production support discipline.

Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • An advanced degree or relevant architecture certification is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of technology experience, including leadership in enterprise integration, API platforms, middleware, engineering delivery, and large-scale transformation is required.
  • Experience leading Integration COEs, platform engineering teams, architecture groups, or multi-market technology delivery functions is required.
  • Deep expertise in domain-driven API architecture, API product management, Insurance-as-a-Service, API taxonomy, microservices, event-driven integration, data integration, partner connectivity, and legacy modernization is required.
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services, API Management, MuleSoft, Kafka, MQ, service mesh, gateways, observability tools, and CI/CD platforms is required in aggregate.
  • Experience with insurance or financial services platforms is preferred.
  • Knowledge of API security, identity and access management, encryption, data protection, regulatory controls, resilience, performance engineering, and operational risk is required.
