About the Role
ADASI seeks a Principal Engineer ECAD Designer (Harness) to develop electrical system layout drawings, wiring diagrams, and 3D harness designs for aerospace applications. The role requires 11-15 years of experience in electrical design within the aerospace/aviation industry and proficiency in CATIA and/or SolidWorks.

Responsibilities
- Develop electrical system layout drawings
- Produce wiring diagrams and the associated 3D harness
- Produce complete harness manufacturing data packs for production (wiring diagram, assemblies & BOM’s)
- Configuration of manufacturing data packs within the PLM/PDM system
- Work closely with specialists in a multidisciplinary team
- Adhere to relevant electrical design & aviation standards and the ADASI code of conduct
- Create and manage complex aircraft assemblies, ensuring proper fit, form, function, and interface control between components
- Utilize PDM/PLM systems to manage CAD data, part revisions, configurations, workflows, and product lifecycle documentation
- Support prototype development, testing activities, and production implementation by providing accurate design data and technical documentation
- Coordinate with suppliers and external stakeholders regarding design requirements, CAD data exchange, and drawing clarifications
- Verify and validate CAD models and drawings through design reviews and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing and assembly issues by analyzing design data and proposing corrective actions
Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Additional certification or specialized training in CATIA and/or SolidWorks is preferred
- Training in engineering drawing standards, GD&T, and aerospace drafting practices is desirable
- Knowledge of aircraft design principles, manufacturing processes, and configuration management practices
- 11–15 years of work experience in an Electrical design environment in Aerospace/Aviation industry
- Working knowledge of CAD packages
- Working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems
- Good understanding of electrical harness manufacturing requirements and processes
- Good understanding of grounding and bonding, EMI/EMF shielding, and wire gauge selection
- Perform basic design calculations
