About the Role

Responsibilities
- Establish Configuration Management Processes: Develop and implement robust configuration management processes tailored to the unique requirements of UAV systems
- Maintain Configuration Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive configuration documentation, including configuration baselines, specifications, drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and engineering change orders (ECOs)
- Manage Configuration Items: Identify and control configuration items (CIs) throughout their lifecycle, from initial design through production, testing, deployment, and obsolescence management
- Facilitate Change Control: Administer the change control process for all proposed changes to UAV configurations
- Coordinate with Engineering and Production Teams: Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to ensure alignment between design intent, manufacturing processes, and configuration documentation
- Configuration Status Accounting: Establish mechanisms for tracking and reporting the status of configuration items, including their current versions, locations, and relationships
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices related to configuration management in the aerospace and defense sector
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the configuration management function
- Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to project teams, stakeholders, and suppliers on configuration management principles, practices, and tools
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field; Advanced degree preferred
- Proven experience in configuration management within the aerospace, defense, or UAV industry for minimum 7 to 8 years
- In depth knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools (e.g., CMDB, PLM, PDM)
- Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, MIL STD 973)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex configurations across multiple product lines
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross functional teams
- Proficiency in configuration management software and tools, including experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII, CMIIC) is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Educational background
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in configuration management within the aerospace, defense, or UAV industry for minimum 7 to 8 years
Professional Experience
- In depth knowledge of configuration management principles, processes, and tools (e.g., CMDB, PLM, PDM).
