Principal Electrical Engineer – Data Center Specialist

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design of data center projects from concept through detailed design and IFC delivery.
• Act as the technical authority for electrical systems including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, and critical power infrastructure.
• Develop resilient power system architectures aligned with Tier III / Tier IV standards.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, load schedules, short circuit studies, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical, architectural, and structural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, TIA-942, and Uptime Institute guidelines.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure quality assurance across all electrical deliverables.
• Interface with clients, operators, and stakeholders on technical matters.
• Mentor and guide electrical engineers and design teams.
• Support value engineering and optimization of electrical systems for efficiency and performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design.
• Strong experience in data center or mission-critical facility design.
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale data center projects.
• In-depth knowledge of MV/LV systems, UPS configurations, generator systems, and power redundancy strategies.
• Experience with electrical design tools such as ETAP, Amtech, or similar.
• Strong understanding of Tier classification, reliability, and redundancy requirements.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and client-facing skills.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience working on hyperscale data center projects.
• Relevant data center certifications (e.g., CDCDP®, DCDC®, ATD) are advantageous.
• Experience in GCC or international data center projects.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to support project delivery strategy.
