Job Purpose
The Pre-Sales Engineer bridges technical solutions and customer needs throughout the sales process.
The role gathers requirements, designs tailored solutions, and presents technical proposals aligned with customer goals.
The role works with sales, product development, engineering, operations, and clients to ensure solutions are viable, cost-effective, and functional.
Core Responsibilities
- Gather customer needs, technical requirements, project goals, operational processes, and desired outcomes.
- Design scalable, cost-effective technical solutions aligned with client requirements and industry standards.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, technical documentation, RFPs, RFIs, and technical bids.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts to clients.
- Support sales meetings, calls, negotiations, and sales enablement activities with technical expertise.
- Validate feasibility through tests, simulations, or analysis and assess risks, dependencies, and implementation challenges.
- Coordinate with product development, engineering, and operations teams and communicate customer feedback internally.
- Build client relationships, provide technical guidance, and act as an escalation point for complex inquiries.
- Maintain customer records, technical reports, and summaries of pre-sales activities.
- Track industry trends and improve proposals, demonstrations, and the overall pre-sales process.
Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
- A master's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in ELV integration, AV, IT, or IoT project design and execution is required.
- Training and product certifications are expected.
- Knowledge of SIRA, MCC, and TRA regulations is required.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of company products, solutions, services, technical platforms, tools, and industry systems.
- Understanding of system integration, APIs, and data flows between systems.
- Ability to design secure, scalable, and efficient architectures.
- Experience building proof-of-concepts, conducting demonstrations, and troubleshooting during demos.
- Ability to customize solutions and create technical proposals, architecture diagrams, user guides, RFPs, RFIs, and presentations.
