Building Management Systems Engineer

Job Summary

BMS Operation and Monitoring

• Monitor HVAC, electrical, lighting, and other connected building systems through the BMS.
• Monitor alarms, system status, trends, and performance and take corrective actions.
• Maintain BMS parameters and settings according to operational requirements.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of BMS systems and associated control components.
• Troubleshoot BMS faults, alarms, sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication issues.
• Coordinate major BMS faults and repairs with specialist contractors and service providers.

Facilities Operations and Optimization

• Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and other maintenance teams.
• Attend BMS breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests within required response and resolution times.
• Support planned preventive maintenance and identify energy and operational efficiency opportunities.
• Review trends and operating parameters to identify abnormalities and optimize system settings.

Quality, HSE, and Documentation

• Conduct inspections and functional checks of BMS equipment and control systems.
• Follow company policies, FM standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE procedures.
• Maintain BMS logs, maintenance records, alarm reports, technical documentation, and equipment records.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on operation, maintenance, faults, corrective actions, and performance.

Information Security

• Comply with information security policies and fulfill assigned information security responsibilities.
• Ensure personnel handling sensitive company information complete security awareness training.
• Report security incidents to the IT Service Desk or information security function.
• Protect accounts, privileges, passwords, and sensitive information and use systems only for authorized purposes.

Experience and Education

• 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, building automation, BMS, or a related engineering environment.
• 2–4 years of experience working with BMS systems, HVAC controls, and building automation systems.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related engineering field.
• Relevant BMS or building automation certification is an advantage.

Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of BMS platforms, HVAC controls, sensors, controllers, actuators, and communication protocols.
• Knowledge of facilities management operations, HVAC systems, and building services.
