About the Role
Bilfinger Middle East seeks an experienced Power Electronics Specialist for a 1-year contract at Ruwais Refinery in Abu Dhabi. - Perform technical assessment of Industrial UPS, VSDs, Soft Starters and Power Electronics equipment
- Troubleshoot failures and support emergency breakdown maintenance
- Review electrical incidents, trips, blackouts and equipment failures
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and prepare technical reports
- Monitor equipment performance through preventive and predictive maintenance
- Review spare parts strategy and identify End of Life (EOL) components
- Coordinate with OEMs during shutdowns and major overhauls
- Perform battery discharge testing and charger health assessments
- Conduct harmonic measurements and power quality analysis
- Maintain technical records and SAP PM/EAM documentation
- Support condition monitoring programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry
- Strong experience with Industrial UPS Systems, Variable Speed Drives, Soft Starters, Active & Passive Filters, Thyristor Heater Systems
- Experience with ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Vacon, Gutor, Chloride, CEG and AEG systems
- Experience with shutdown maintenance
- SAP PM/EAM experience
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE and ADNOC standards

Job Purpose
- We are seeking an experienced Power Electronics Specialist to provide technical support, troubleshooting, reliability improvement, preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, and lifecycle management of Industrial UPS Systems, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), Soft Starters, Active/Passive Harmonic Fi
- The successful candidate will support electrical reliability enhancement initiatives, perform root cause investigations, execute condition assessments, and recommend equipment upgrades to improve refinery availability and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical assessment of Industrial UPS, VSDs, Soft Starters and Power Electronics equipment.
- Troubleshoot failures and support emergency breakdown maintenance.

Work Schedule
- Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 40 Hours per Week, Full Time Onsite.
