About the Role

- Guide and support direct subordinates to execute tasks according to defined processes and policies
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in the field, including 3 years in a managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business administration, or equivalent
- Master's degree in legal studies or business administration (preferred)

Job Objective
- Ensure alignment with latest regulatory requirements, lead development and update of governance and compliance documentation, prepare second line of defense control framework, and review controls related to key compliance risks such as bribery, corruption, insider trading, money laundering, conflict
Roles and Responsibilities
- Participate in developing the governance and compliance work plan and ensure alignment with the authority's strategy
- Develop the operational plan for governance and compliance policies and controls and align with the work plan and strategic plan
- Establish standard operating procedures for standards and policies
- Implement plans and provide inputs to achieve objectives of the standards and policies department
- Discuss financial budget requirements with senior management and provide inputs
- Ensure optimal use of the governance and compliance budget and report progress
- Verify initiatives and recommend those that lead to positive results and mitigate risks
- Establish standard operating procedures to identify and monitor new or amended national/international compliance obligations
- Coordinate with corporate communication and awareness regarding new/updated regulations
- Establish standard operating procedures for impact assessment and updating policies/standards/procedures
- Conduct research and benchmarking of best practices to improve compliance framework
- Take responsibility for the governance and compliance documentation library and review periodically
Additional Responsibilities
- Prepare the comprehensive control framework for risks under the responsibility of the governance and compliance department as second line of defense
- Identify compliance control requirements for first and second lines of defense
- Develop second line of defense controls and measure them against KPIs
- Define the comprehensive control framework and ensure alignment with best practices
- Lead the development of compliance control requirements for first and second lines of defense
- Lead cross departmental collaboration with control owners to collect and document controls
- Ensure the control set is comprehensive and updated
- Oversee the implementation of second line of defense controls
- Monitor and review reports on control performance and effectiveness
- Provide expert advice and suggestions to improve control implementation
- Participate in identifying and recruiting key talent
- Guide and support direct subordinates, develop individual performance goals, and evaluate team performance
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- 8 years of experience in the field, including 3 years in a managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies, business administration, or equivalent (required)
- Master's degree in legal studies, business administration, or equivalent (preferred)
