Role

Experienced Project Controls Manager role managing controls across a portfolio of major energy projects.

The role monitors cost, schedule, business planning, reporting, information management, contracting, procurement, organization, and staffing to support timely project completion.

Clients and Projects

Wood’s Oil, Gas and New Energies business delivers large and complex projects for national and international energy companies across upstream, midstream, offshore, gas-to-liquids, decarbonization, and electrification markets.

The role supports high-profile clients such as ADNOC and projects related to energy security and transition.

Project Controls and Management

  • Establish and maintain compliant procedures for project services and controls.
  • Direct annual business planning, budgeting, project assessments, performance reviews, and management reporting.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, quality, and SHE&S project team members.
  • Lead risk management and maintain current project issues and risk registers.
  • Monitor cost, schedule, contracts, procurement, information management, and project requirements.
  • Provide cost and schedule estimates, reports, and change-impact advice for project decisions.

Financial, Contracts and Procurement

  • Direct project financial reporting, accruals, cash calls, reconciliations, accounting activities, invoicing reviews, and approvals.
  • Direct fixed asset register preparation and project tender and procurement activities through award.
  • Support contract administration and implement the ExxonMobil Master Technical Agreement work order process.
  • Coordinate ExxonMobil work requests and secure non-EPC contracts needed for execution and commissioning.

Organization and Stakeholders

  • Direct development of the IPMT organizational plan and related staffing.
  • Brief project team members on project services requirements and processes, with a focus on safety.
  • Mentor ADNOC staff in business activities and ensure contractors deliver information-management requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Master’s degree in Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 20 years of oil and gas experience, including project controls management on large projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
  • Ability to make independent judgments on quality issues.
  • Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and related interfaces.
